Don the baby carrier to enjoy a stunning lakeside walk or hop on the bicycles provided complete with packed lunch from the Manoir kitchens and within minutes you will be enjoying easy family cycling along the Nantes-Brest canal path. There’s a wonderful playroom for the little ones with lots of toys, games and books plus a separate games room boasting table tennis, table football, darts and a Playstation for the bigger ones! Don't forget to include a trip to see the Carnac Standing Stones. Local Breton tradition claims that the reason they stand in such perfectly straight lines is that they are a Roman legion turned to stone by Merlin!

• Parc de Branféré. Open air animal park in lovely setting with beautiful château, lakes and waterfalls. Impressive bird show and children can feed the animals. At Le Guerno. 55 miles, 1hr 12.
•  Zone de Hippo. Huge indoor play area for 0-12 years. At Quimper. 75 miles, 1hr 20 minutes.
• La Ferme du Monde. Huge animal park where children can interact with the farm animals. With a petit train, free pony rides and miniature animated village. Play area even has mini tractors to ride! At Carentoir. 52 miles, 1hr.
•  Abeille Vivante et la Cité des Fourmis (Bee and Ant City). Get close up to armies of ants marching with leaf fragments, giant anthills and unique, busy bee hives. At Le Faouet. 31 miles, 50 minutes.
• Lac de Guerlédan. Avoid the hustle and bustle of the sea beaches and head to this beautiful lake for sandy beaches and safe bathing. At Mûr-de-Bretagne. 12 miles, 20 minutes.
•  Aquarium de Vannes. Take a closer look at the sea life of the Gulf of Morbihan, Amazon and the Red Sea. Baby friendly transport in the form of extra high pushchairs on wheels so the little ones can view the displays as well! At Vannes. 32 miles, 50 mins.
•  L’Univers du Poète Ferrailleur. Artist makes animated toys and other strange machines from waste material. Little ones will love pushing buttons and moving handles to make things work! At Lizio. 28 miles, 42 minutes.
• Beaches that are sheltered and tot friendly. Try Quiberon (60 miles, 1hr 15) or Carnac (52 miles, 1hr) for some of the best beaches in France. Puppets and clowns in summer. A little further but with a Station Kid Award is Piriac-sur-mer (80 miles, 1hr 50)
