When you are looking for holiday accommodation suitable for babies how do you know it is baby friendly? All of our holiday properties on Holiday Tots are Baby Friendly and so you needn’t worry but if you are looking elsewhere here are some tips on what to look for in your holiday accommodation.
The first thing to look for is a list of items that would make your life easier with your baby. Items to consider are: cot, highchairs, changing mat, baby toys, sterilisers, baby monitors, baby bath or bath in the bathroom, bouncy chair, baby gym, pushchairs, baby carriers, blackout curtains blinds or shutters etc. Although not all of these items may be available if many of them are you can usually be assured you are on the right track.
The second to consider are your hosts, check that they are happy for you to bring your baby, ask them lots of questions such as; what baby equipment they have? Do they offer babysitting and if so who does it? (even if you do not want to use the service yourself, if they have babysitters available it probably means they have quite a few families stay – not always but probably). Ask them about local doctors, pharmacies and shops selling provisions for baby items to get a feel for their knowledge of the area.
Another important factor to consider is bath time. If you have a baby who enjoys a bath before bedtime make sure that the holiday property you are considering has either a bath (many have only showers) or can supply a baby bath.
