Overlooking pony-dotted fields, you’ll find our lovely cottage on a country lane near the boat-bobbing harbour of Keyhaven (2.5km away). Just a 15 minute bike ride to Milford beach, this welcoming home-from-home is perfect for family adventures… and the treehouse is just the cherry on top!

The atmosphere is one of R&R at Field View, with a great selection of toys at-the-ready for younger guests, there are also plenty of creature comforts for the grownups. Amongst the colourful and jolly styling throughout, we love how the gorgeous green-filled scenes that surround can be spotted through every window.

For days out, follow the lane, or weave through the wide fields, until you reach water. You can take a boat trip, or wander the spit to Hurst Castle for a slice of history… with a big side of views! Milford on Sea is just a stone’s through further, where crabbing, paddling and ice creams await. Milford Village is also a great spot for stocking-up and eating out, with its great mix of places to shop, sip and sample local goodies.

Back home, you’ll enjoy whatever-the-weather time together- with a brill alfresco set-up to sink back into (great for spying on the little ones as they spy on the ponies!). And, as the night draws-in, the cosy living area is just the ticket to continue the play and conversations inside. All bedrooms have been decorated in a rather sleek & lovely manner here, and the downstairs en-suite bedroom is a hit for multi-generational stays with it’s easy access.

… If you are looking for a place to spend quality time together, you’ll be sure to find it here!

Here's your full run down of this place, inside and out...

Inside

You'll park by the front door which takes you inside to the base of the stairs and into the sitting room area. The house is set up for families who will appreciate the thoughtful owners who've put a huge amount of effort and detail into this cottage. The kitchen is new, has plenty of kit for cooking, good views of the garden on both sides, and a separate dining room with a table to seat everyone will be perfect for family meals.

There is a good downstairs bedroom and ensuite shower - useful for those who don't want to climb stairs.

Upstairs bedrooms are all a nice size for a small cottage. Each will fit a travel cot in. The green and blue bedrooms feel a little bit chi-chi, the kids bedroom is fun, with quirky details.

The upstairs bathroom is particularly smart with dark blue walls and a giant circular mirror. Post-beach-walk-baths will be indulgent.

Outside

The garden at the back is mainly flat and has good views to the pony paddocks beyond.
There is a small play gazebo in the garden too.

The dining room has double doors that open up onto a small terrace. To the left, with access from the kitchen door, is another terrace with a solid table for outdoor meals. This seats 8.
GardenEnclosed back garden with large patio with a solid wooden table with 8 chairs. There are lots of garden games for the kids but best of all, a little treehouse. It's quite high, so we have a rope ladder hanging. This will help filter out children who are too young to climb up, and parents can clip up the ladder if you don't want children to climb up. The garden has views to the surrounding pony paddocks and small holdings.

There's a little vegetable patch and a small herb garden too.

There is a charcoal BBQ for guests to use.
ParkingParking for 3 cars outside the house.

Vehicle charging is possible via the mains electricity in the property. At the time of booking, you will be required to select how many electric vehicles you will be charging during your stay; as a £35 surcharge is applicable for each EV car per booking. Please also note that you will need to bring your own charging cables.

Home truths

The treehouse is small, and quite high, so won't be suitable for all kids. The owners have hung a rope ladder for access which will help filter small children who don't have the strength to climb up.

We ask guests to sign a waiver if they are going to use it. You can tie up the rope ladder to stop little ones getting access.

There is an extra charge for logs and kindling to burn on the fire (October- March) but feel free to BYO!

Accessibility

You can park within 5 metres of the house. There is a small step into the house from the front. The downstairs bedroom has an ensuite bathroom but it doesn't have any special handles or grab rails. To get into the outside terrace you need to step over the door lintel but otherwise it's flat.

The stairs to the second floor have a good solid handrail.

We've put in the Insiders Guide to Milford here, but the house is on the back lane to Keyhaven - so here's a heads-up for you on this pretty village.

We love Keyhaven for it's great pub, no shops, wonderful crabbing, autumn beach foraging for samphire, and of course the coastal path - which is amazing for blowing the cobwebs away all year around. Make sure you read our Insiders Guide to Keyhaven too...

Comfortable house with plenty of space inside and out Tree House a great hit with our 7,8 & 9 year old grandchildren.

Alexander & family June 2023

Just wanted to thank you for the excellent accommodation last week. It was all at a very high standard and the thought that had gone into making the children happy with the large selection of garden toys was amazing. The only small improvement would be normal clothes pegs instead of the old fashioned ones. Will most certainly consider you again in the future.

Linda & family May 2022

A really lovely stay that was perfect for us all. Loved the area and the walks here were lovely.

We had a great stay at Field View. Three generations coming together for a family holiday and it works our perfectly. Lovely cottage, fab weather and some stunning wildlife in Keyhaven Marshes. We all loved the area and would stay at the cottage again in the future. Thank you.

Thank you for a lovely stay. House in really nice location. We loved Keyhaven & The Lighthouse restaurant in Milford. Loads of great walks on the coast and in the New Forest. Would really recommend. Highcliffe Castle and the beach could almost be somewhere abroad with the fantastic weather we have had. Also recommend Osbourne House on the Isle of Wight - so easy from Lymington

The Kavanagh Family August 2021

Lovely house, lots of entertainment in the garden for kids to enjoy! House was spacious and decorated beautifully! Would definitely recommend a visit.

Sarah July 2021

We had a great stay here in Field View. We walked to the coast (Keyhaven aswell as Milford on Sea) several times via different routes crossing fields with amazing yellow rapeseed and a beautiful semi-natural forest with Oak and Bluebells. We explored the New Forest starting at the top end of Furzey Lane, Brockenhurst. The kids spent hours playing with the garden games and watching the horses from the height of the tree house. Thanks Andrew & Kath for making your lovely holiday home available to others. To all future guests; enjoy your time here!

Leanne & Family May 2021

The house is new with us in May 2021. Our own team have been helping the owners style and finish the house over the last 2 months. The project has been a total renovation and the finish is something we are very proud to bring you. The whole team have visited the house and we have rented houses in this area for the last 5 years. Keyhaven and Milford are such lovely areas. Enjoy!
