Many families head to the beautiful counties of Norfolk, Suffolk, Cornwall or Devon for their family holiday but have you thought about Inverness, Loch Ness or further south to West Sussex? Both of these beautiful regions in the UK promise history, beautiful landscape, child-friendly beaches and lots of family-friendly activities that will keep all ages entertained!

West Sussex stretches along the southern coastline and boasts sandy beaches with lagoons and sand (ideal for toddlers), it is less than two hours from London by car or just over an hour by train from Victoria. It is also, according the Met Office records, the sunniest county in the UK. There are plenty of family friendly days out options for all ages from toddlers to grand-parents. Visit one of the beautiful historical villages or castles, soak up the sea air at one of the quaint seaside towns or explore the South Downs National Park, the little ones will love joining in a John Muir mission!

Heading further north in the Scottish Highlands why not visit Loch Ness and Inverness? You will be spoilt for choice in this stunning area of Scotland with so much to do for families looking for a cultural and beautiful holiday. Soak up the amazing scenery, visit Landmark Park for some structured fun, head to the coast to build sand castles on one of the many child-friendly beaches and spot a dolphin or two, or three or more from land or sea. The kids will love the myth surrounding Nessie too!
