Families looking for a true getaway, this is a hip hideaway – perfect for a couple and little one as well as large group parties, they can cater for every size of gathering on Osea.

Osea island is home to 19 self-catering holiday homes of varying sizes. The main attraction here is that there is absolutely nothing to do! No shops, no arcades, no restaurants, no bars. If you want a short break near London that gives you the feeling of being totally isolated then Osea is for you. It’s hard to explain the feeling you get when you are here, its like going back in time, each holiday home has a funky retro feel, the beach surrounding the island is mainly shingle but there are sandy spots. There is an outdoor swimming pool heated during the summer and a small clubhouse where guests can gather and play a game of table football or pool. There are no refreshments here, you are left to cater for yourselves. Access to the island is via the causeway when the tide is low, once the tide rises there is no way back, so you really don’t want to forget the milk! We visited Osea for a short family stay and fell in love with the feeling of the place, however it’s not everyone’s cup of tea. If you have a sense for adventure then you might be pleasantly surprised.

Camber Sands, East Sussex
