Ditch the screens, car and four walls and head to the Into the Trees family festival this September. Visit for a day or camp one or two nights, whatever takes your fancy. Into the Trees festival is in its fourth year- it’s great for families looking to embrace what nature has to offer. It takes part in the beautiful Pippingford Estate located in the middle of the Ashdown Forest in Sussex on 14th, 15thand 16thSeptember 2018. September is the perfect time to visit as the autumn colours are coming out in full force.
This family festival will take the whole family on an adventure of discovery and inspiration. Whether you visit for the day or camp, make sure you book any activities in advance. Campers have entry from 2pm on the Friday and the food vendors and bar will be open in the evenings after the day ticket holders have left, in addition on Friday and Saturday evenings the campfire will be lit at 6 o’clock and a little entertainment on offer, with open Mic from 8.30pm. There will be at least one vendor open for breakfast and coffee before the doors open for the day ticket holders each morning.
Activities
There are lots of different activities for all the family, some need to be pre booked to avoid disappointment (and will have an extra cost), but many are just drop in and included in your festival ticket price. Here is a taster of what is on offer…
Pond Dipping

Lantern Making 
There are lots of arts and craft activities at Into the Trees including Lantern making by the Schools without Walls team who will also have a fab art isntallation to follow
Axe Throwing

Tree Climbing 
The Great Big Tree Climbing Co will take you on a 30-minute tree climbing experience, there are of course lots of trees to climb in the woods, but this will take you to the tree canopy in Pippingford’s ancient woodland. Bookable
Mud Monsters 
Make muddy master pieces!
Mud kitchens 
These popular mud kitchens by Holmes Wood Play are perfect for children to release their inner creativity making mud pies, sloppy soups and more.
Unite the Beat 
For a musical adventure in the woods, tree stumps for drums, snail shells for shakers, splish splash the water, for all the family and Unite the Beat will record samples and take footage throughout the workshop and compose your very own music video!
Jon Mason 
Jon will take you on a journey with his story telling by picking up stories from his landscape around us, fun for adults and children.
Los Tangueros 
A mixture of Latin rumbas, jazz, African rhythm and a small helping of psychedelia for good measure! Enjoy Saturday night vibes around the camp fire.
Kids Kayaking sessions 
First timer, no worries, Adrian The kayak Coack can offer one-hour fun kids kayaking experience for 8-15 yrs old whatever their level, from beginners. Bookable
