Normandy is just hop across the Channel, with rolling fields, picture-postcard views, miles of golden sands and an authentic French experience making this a great all round family holiday destination any time of year.
For family fun why not take the kids to Mont St Michel a village and a monastery built on a rocky island, there are gift shops, museums and restaurants and you can take a ramble across the abbey and enjoy amazing views over the bay. Children would love La Cite de la Mer, a marine complex with the largest aquarium in Europe and a submarine to explore! And the enchanted village at Bellefontaine is great for little children too, fairy-tale scenes, miniature railway and some little rides.
There are plenty of toddler friendly beaches too and lower Normandy is a wonderful combination of coast and countryside. The weather here is similar to the UK just a couple of degrees warmer and a bit drier, it is a lovely place to take the family any time of year, not too hot in the summer and great for out of season holidays too.
