Overview - APMV
This elegant family-friendly house is the original wing of a grand Georgian Grade II Listed house on the Quay overlooking the historic Port of Charlestown. It has been beautifully decorated by its owners and sleeps 6 in its 3 bedrooms. It has everything you could want for babies and toddlers including stairgates, blackout blinds, pushchair, socket covers, anti-door slammers, changing mat, baby monitor, steriliser, play mat, highchair, water mattress protectors, potty, baby bath, hand held food whizzer, toys, enclosed garden… you get the picture!
Built in the late 1700’s, the Port of Charlestown is largely unchanged and is now home to three tall ships, Phoenix, Kaskelot and the Earl of Pembroke. The beaches, either side of the Quay, are so close a toddler can make it! Take a glass of wine in the lovely south facing Courtyard Garden or stroll over the Quay’s lock gate to the Hotel for a crab sarnie on their terrace.
Charlestown is approximately 10 minutes from both the Eden Project and the Lost Gardens of Heligan and ideally situated for visiting ,many other attractions in Cornwall including: the Maritime Museum in Falmouth, the Tate at St Ives, and Padstow, with Rick Stein’s restaurants.
Every room has a stunning view.
There are three bedrooms (a super king, a king and a tiny double). The bedrooms ooze style, comfort with the sheets, duvet, pillows and towels all from the White Company. There are also hair dryers, clocks, blankets and sewing kits in each bedroom.
The kitchen has all the modern appliances you would expect, washing machine/tumble dryer, gas hob, electric oven, fridge, microwave, dishwasher, WiFi and landline phone and hopefully everything else you might need...
The dining room has a huge solid oak table.
In the sitting room there are two fabulous sofas, a fire place for real fires, TV with built in DVD, and digital radio/CD. The house is sheltered from the bustle of the harbour by its large sculptural hedges.
The bathroom, with its view out to sea, leads to the master bedroom or hallway depending on which door you use. There is a traditional cast iron bath with overhead shower and again, fluffy white towels!
