• Zoomarine 15-20 mins drive - Zoomarine is an amazing marine park. It has live dolphin, seal, bird, high-diving shows, a large pool and play area, 4-D cinema and rides etc. While it’s obviously better in the sunshine, there are plenty of covered areas and the seating for the shows is covered.
• Falesia, Vilamoura and many other Beaches - There are numerous beaches within 10 minutes drive. Falesia is the biggest beach in the Algarve, and it’s fantastic.
• Algarve Shopping - Algarve Shopping is a giant mall located around 10kms from Fonte Verde. It has a wide range of shops, many of which you’ll recognise, such as Zara. The prices can be a good deal cheaper than at home.
• Vilamoura Marina - We’re an easy 10 minute drive from Vilamoura. This is a beautiful Marina, with some excellent places to eat – we can tell you where to go. It’s a great spot to people-watch.
• Vilamoura - Vilamoura is upmarket, and has a huge range of amenities from 5 star hotels and spas, to crazy golf, tennis academies, golf driving ranges, equestrian and so on.
• Aquashow - This is the owners favourite waterpark. It’s modern, spotless, and is only 10-15 minutes drive. It has a great children’s area.
• Many Historical Towns - The Algarve dates from Moorish times and the name “Algarve” is Moorish. Much of the old architecture was destroyed several hundred years ago by an earthquake, but the region is steeped in history, with the magnificent fort in Sagres, the old towns in Faro, Loule among other, small fishing villages such as Alvor. The Algarve is quite compact and there is a huge amount to see within and hour’s drive. For specific interests we are happy to advise you.
• Golf & Tennis - There are 10 golf courses within 5-20 minutes. The closes are Millennium and Laguna. There are numerous Tennis academies in the Algarve that provide tuition to visitors.
• Almancil Karting - Almancil is fewer than15 minutes drive from from Fonte Verde. There’s a fantastic karting circuit here, but it has very good family facilities and other amusements on site.
• Surfing - We have a surfing partner called “FutureSurf”, who have a great reputation in teaching surfing to people of all abilities and ages. They’re located in nearby Praia da Rocha in Portimao. They’ve a great attitude and we recommend them.
• Albufeira Old Town - Albufeira Old Town 20 minutes from Fonte Verde. It has a nice outdoor nightlife, with plenty of restaurants etc. and is suitable for young families.
• Local Markets - Most of the towns in the Algarve have local weekly markets. Many also have municipal markets selling fresh fish, fruit, artisan food and crafts etc. The strange looking creatures on the fish displays usually provide entertainment for the kids.
• Loule - Loule market is open 6 days per week and is worth a visit. The cobbled streets of Loule are full of history and are interesting. There are plenty of on-street places to eat or have an ice-cream. Loule also has two hypermarkets and at 10 minutes drive is a handy place to do the “big shops”
• Boliqueime Village - We are situated on the edge of this quaint village. The village has everything for your daily needs; shops, pharmacy, bank, restaurants, and so on. It also has a beautiful old church and small museum. The closest restaurants are 300metres from us.
• Parque Aventura, Albufeira - This is a ropes and obstacle park, suitable for ages from 4 years old upwards. It also has a large paintball area for slightly older children. It’s great fun and is really professionally managed.
• Outdoor Activities - The climate ensures that are countless outdoor activities in the Algarve for all the family from crazy golf, to boat trips, road trains, zoos, carnivals, water-based activities for different age ranges.
