What an amazing family holiday! This place is true paradise and only 30 miles off the coast of Cornwall. You’ll have fun travelling to the Island from the mainland and once you arrive the car free zone means that the kids have the 2 ½ mile long island as their playground. Perfect. With gardens, historical castles, an art gallery and high end food and accommodation you will be totally spoilt. The peaceful and relaxing Island is very friendly and the staff will ensure that nothing is left out of your holiday.  

If you’d like to explore the area, Tresco is a great base for exploring the other Islands of Scilly with the inter-island boat service. However if you wish to stay put, the island has lots to offer a family.

Right on your doorstep you will find the sandy beaches, clear seas and grassland/woodlands that make for great adventures on foot, by bike or by boat! You can hire bikes, including helmets and tag-alongs and stabilisers from the island office. You can also hire a golf buggy for the duration of your stay if you need a little extra help getting around. If it’s the sea and amazing views you’d like to explore, then why not hire a boat, windsurf or kayak from the sailing club?

The climate on Tresco is something special, and it’s because of this that it’s host to Abbey gardens, the famous sub-tropical gardens with species not found anywhere else in the UK! Enjoy a stroll around the gardens, and take a look at the art gallery too. You will also find a bit of history here… 2 castles to explore and a selection of 30 figureheads from ship wrecks over the last 200 years are located in the garden house.

If you would like to totally relax and unwind then the Flying Boat Spa will be worth a visit. You have access to all the leisure facilities during your stay including the indoor heated pool, tennis courts, spa, Jacuzzi, gym and sauna as well as access to the golf course (located on the Island of St Marys) - all included in your stay. The Islands food store is very well stocked with all the family favorites such as cereals and branded items. It also has a wide selection of baby items such as baby wipes, food and nappies. So don’t worry if you have left something behind. Groceries can be delivered to your door if you wish – just arrange with Tresco when you book. The store also sells local produce from the Island and Cornish coast and has an in house bakery for fresh pasties and croissants. A wide selection of cheeses and wine will ensure you have a great night in! If you want to spoil yourselves you can choose the dine in option, freshly prepared meals by the chef can be delivered to your cottage, pop them in the oven and enjoy!

If you fancy eating out, there’s a café and restaurant. The restaurant serves light lunches, snacks and drinks daily and serves dinner 3 times a week.  The award winning food and beverages from the New Inn pub are a must. They sell the family pub favourites as well as amazing culinary delights which have gained the New Inn a Gold Star Award from The AA for quality and service and an AA rosette for food excellence. The café is the closest from this cottage and its open daily from mid-March to early November for breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner. A lovely chilled out atmosphere and perfect for relaxing with a cup of coffee or a glass of wine whilst you watch the kids play on the beach from the terrace. The views are stunning – an amazing place to relax.
