Overview - Lantern and Larks - Sweffling Hall
If you enjoyed camping as a kid but are no longer partial to sleeping in bags huddled up next to each other for warmth, or the cold trek across a muddy field to use the bathroom in the middle of the night – then Lantern and Larks may well be the place for you…
These amazing ‘tents’ have 3 bedrooms and a shower room with separate toilet, solid wood flooring and luxurious furnishings. This is not camping as you know it, but the best of both worlds, aka glamping! This is not a campsite either: it is a rural working farm with only a few luxury ‘tents’ dotted around the grounds so you have your own private bit of countryside to unwind in while the little ones embrace the clean air. The cars stay in the car park too so it’s nice and safe, but don’t worry, there are wheelbarrows on hand to help you transport your luggage!
Set in a beautiful spot in the county of Suffolk, in between Southwold and Felixstowe – it is the perfect location to enjoy the coastal treats Suffolk has in store. From pier beaches, shops, pubs, castles and tea rooms and much more, (See our Tots Top 10 for some fantastic places to visit with the kids). The tents are situated within a working farm with little farmyard friends to visit and the village is a 15 minute walk.
Children will love exploring their surroundings, so you may find a day lounging round your tent will be enough entertainment. Adults can sit back and relax on the sofas on the terrace, enjoy a glass of wine and a game of cards whilst toasting your marsh mallows on the fire pit and the children will enjoy running free, making dens and friends.
Property details
This luxury canvas tent is fully equipped with everything you need for a comfortable stay. The interiors are really spacious and very luxurious. Solid decking floors throughout and a terrace at the front with a porch entrance to the rear of the tent – great for those muddy wellies and coats.
There are 3 bedrooms, one double, a twin and a third room with bunkbeds perfect for the little ones to teenagers of the family, with not a sleeping bag insight but lovely duvets.
Not having to queue for the facilities and having your own toiletries available is another added bonus of glamping, the shower runs off an independent hot water system and the toilet is flushable.
The living area is open plan and spacious for family and friends to use as a social and entertaining space. The wood burning stove is a central focal point and sofas and seating areas make it a really comfy place to relax.
In the kitchen area you will find a cold box with frozen packs to keep your essentials cool, just return the old packs to the honesty shop and replace them with fresh ones daily. There is a log burning range so you can use the hob or oven to make your meals. You may prefer the fire pit though – it’s all part of the adventure!
