Overview - Lantern and Larks - Kittisford Barton
Set amongst the glorious countryside of Somerset, this is an ideal spot for a family glamping trip. This secluded spot is very peaceful and provides an opportunity for the whole family to explore the surroundings and have fun in the outdoors without giving up the luxuries and home comforts. (This includes your own private shower room and toilet – meaning no midnight dashes across the field or queues in the morning!)
Lantern and Larks have a small site that has Blackdown Hills ANOB as it’s backdrop and has 260 acres of woodlands and fields to enjoy. Children will love the farm animals – collecting the eggs from the chickens and visiting the goats. If you would like to travel a little further you can discover the coastal areas of Devon and Somerset as within an hours drive you have access to the beach at Minehead and the coastal town of Lyme Regis, ideal for a day out. You may just like to chill at the tent though, playing games and enjoying the space to run freely. See the Tots Top 10 for some fab family ideas to keep you entertained.
The glamping tents are very luxurious, and they come fully equipped with everything you need to make your stay comfortable. You can pre-order a breakfast, BBQ or campfire pack if you wish so you are all set up for your first day without having to leave the site, (all the essentials covered of course such as marshmallows, chocolate pieces and ice cream cones! as well as meat, bread, fruit etc…) just enquire with the owner when booking.
For young families staying there are travel cots, highchairs and fire guards supplied if needed.
Property details
The interiors of the tent are very spacious and luxurious. Solid decking floors throughout and a terrace at the front with a porch entrance to the rear of the tent – great for those muddy wellies and coats.
There are 3 bedrooms; one double, a twin and a third room with bunkbeds perfect for the little ones to teenagers of the family, all with comfy mattresses and plush duvets.
Not having to queue for the facilities and having your own toiletries available is another added bonus of glamping, the shower runs off an independent hot water system and the toilet is flushable.
The living area is open plan and spacious for family and friends to use as a social and entertaining space. The wood burning stove is a central focal point and sofas and seating areas make it a really comfy place to relax.
In the kitchen area you will find a cold box with frozen packs to keep your essentials cool, just return the old packs to the honesty shop and replace them with fresh ones daily. There is a log burning range so you can use the hob or oven to make your meals. You may prefer the fire pit though – it’s all part of the adventure!
The decked terrace with outdoor furniture and BBQ finish off the glamping tent, the perfect spot on a beautiful evening.
