Overview - New Forest Escapes - Sunnydell Cottage
This lovely holiday home is perfect for all the family, offering the perfect escape for nature lovers and tree climbers. Situated in a calm oasis in the New Forest you might not want to leave! The cottage is over 250 years old and is a typical New Forest woodland house with wobbly walls, low ceilings and ancient beams. If you are over 6ft tall you will need to watch your head! It is located right in the middle of the National Park and so is bordered by forest on all sides.
Sunnydell Cottage has separate stable buildings, home to two play rooms. The first is for big kids, with table tennis and yoga mats and the second ideal for smaller kids with tepee and yos. They have full length bi-fold doors. There is also an office for reading, music or pamper sessions or a grateful escape for grandparents wanting to have an afternoon read and snooze!
The garden is a quarter of an acre and laid mostly to lawn with two seating areas, there are garden games available. The swimming pool is heated and opens generally from May to mid-September. For opening outside these dates just ask the owner as they can arrange for heating at an extra cost. The pool is heated to 25/6 C and is valeted weekly.
Property details
The kitchen is perfect for families to chat with a big kitchen table which seats 6-8 and a picnic table just though the double doors. The kitchen room faces the stables and you can see right to the office and two playrooms across the lawn. It’s a distance of 22 metres and so a good baby monitor should reach if babies are napping here.
There is a downstairs bathroom and this is also home to the main toilet in the cottage.
The sitting room is the oldest part of the house and has a fireplace and woodburner.
There is a compact double room with ensuite shower room and toilet (no door). Its not the biggest room but has a lovely terrace onto the garden and is a fab sun trap – ideal for grand-parents maybe.
Well behaved dogs are welcome here, please mention when enquiring.
