This tiny hamlet of five child-friendly holiday cottages are perfect for a family holiday. Let the family unwind and relax in the beautiful 30 acres of pasture, wild flower meadows and woodland, home to this family-friendly cottage complex. Perfect for a family of three or large groups looking to holiday together.
If you are looking for a little more life the quaint little French town of Mirepoix is just five minutes away by car, with twice weekly market, restaurants and cafes. If you are feeling energetic it’s just a 20 minute cycle along the off-road cycle track which runs past the complex. Bike hire available.
Situated on the border of the Areige and Aude departments it is perfectly located for exploring the breath-taking Languedoc and Midi Pyrenees regions. (the region is now known as Occitanie) Lac Montbel is located just 15 minutes away and La Cite at Carcassonne is a 40 minute drive with swimming lake, Cathar Castle and more. Back on site there is plenty to keep the whole family entertained. The large swimming pool (14 x 7.5 meters) takes centre stage: carved into the hillside it provides the perfect spot to relax with views across the valley while the kids have a splash about! It’s perfect for toddlers too as it is fully enclosed with a self-closing self-locking gate and child-proof handle plus additional key-operated lock and is also heated through May to October for extended fun!
By the pool you will find a fab summer kitchen with built in gas bbq, fridge freezer, dishwasher and sink. Perfect for lazy days and evening refreshments and bbqs.
The five child-friendly holiday cottages sit within 30 acres, made up of pasture for the Shetland ponies and sheep, woodland with numerous wildlife and wild flower meadows. Children will love the space here, dressing up, kicking a ball, playing table tennis, playing in the wooden fort or splashing in the pool. There is also a weekly pizza party in the barn and in July and August quite often activities are organised for all aAnimal lovers in the family will be delighted to learn they can help feed the ponies, chickens and guinea pigs too!
The owners can arrange for a massage in your cottage or facial or manicure. They can also offer babysitting so you can have a well-earned night off, maybe a table for two at l’Abbaye-Chateau de Camon and according to the owners ‘enjoy an amazing but very reasonably priced five course degustation dinner in an incredibly romantic setting with just the right balance of great service and informality’. If they are around they might even give you a lift there and back!
There is an honesty shop and a catered meal delivery service. For breakfast take advantage of the morning bread and croissant delivery services and before your holiday even begins, there is a pre-bookable arrival shopping service. The owners really are here to help!
These child-friendly holiday cottages are only let to families with babies and young children during the season so there will be lots of playmates.
There are five child-friendly cottages to choose from, each have been lovingly restored using traditional materials. Each cottage is baby and toddler-friendly too and have their own private south facing gardens and terraces equipped with table, chairs and private BBQs.
The whole complex can accommodate up to 25 plus babies in cots.
Cottages offer 2 and 3 bedrooms, sleeping families from 4 to 6.
Please note that two cottages are closed during the winter months.
