• Sunday market - Collect your local produce from our local market 7 minutes’ drive away. Proper French atmosphere, bars, cafes and restaurants, so a great place to visit the day after you have arrived.
• Dampierre chateau - 15 min drive. A small privately-run chateau with beautiful gardens where the kids will find old fashion games, giant chess board and a maze. The small town is charming with the river running through and a few cafes to sit and enjoy and relax.
• Zoodysse - 20 min drive. A wonderful ZOO with animals on fields and not so much in cages. Lovely walks in the woods and play grounds dotted around on your walks
• Cognac base de Loisir - 45 min drive. Cognac is full of history and quaint little streets. The distilleries are well worth a visit but can be hard with children. Located by the river in Cognac is a fantastic outdoor play area catering for all ages. Here you will find inflatable play area, climbing activity, giant trampolines, paddling pool, kayak, peddlos, swings, slides and much more. Plenty of shade and relaxing green area as well as a child friendly restaurant.
• Ruffec - 45 min drive. A very charming child friendly place by the river with bridges going to small islands. You can rent kayaks and swim in the river. Parts of the river is very shallow with a sandy beach, so very good for the little ones.
• Fontdouce tree climbing and laser games - 35 min drive. Set in wonderful grounds by a chateau everyone in the family can climb safely in the trees with usage of a harness. Activities from 3 years and up. Near by is also the roman city of Saintes and a few places to visit on the river for swimming and relaxation.
• Saint Savinien, miniature boats - 45 min drive. A great activity for kids very young. Beautifully maintained electric miniature boats the children can sail (with a parent) in a small lake. Here you will also find an outdoor inflatable park.
• Lakes - 20 min drive. We have two lakes nearby, both very toddler/child friendly with sandy beach, peddles, play area etc. Safety nets for the little ones and in high season with a lifeguard. Both lakes have a restaurant for easy family dining, ice cream, drinks and coffees.
• Vallee des singes (monkey vallee) - 50 min drive. A unique monkey park where you can walk among some of the monkeys with security guards nearby. The kids love this place. Wonderful walks, beautiful play areas and picnic areas.
• La Rochelle aquarium - 70 min drive. La Rochelle is a beautiful harbor city with lots of history and is very quaint. By the harbor in amongst all the restaurants you will find the aquarium perfectly situated so you can easily visit but also make use of the rest of the city. The aquarium is amazing, and the children get a piece of paper to answer questions as they go along. Outside the aquarium there is a water fountain for the children to splash around in on hot days.
