Farm stay holidays with children in the UK

Farm-stay holidays have popped up all over the place in recent years, and as more and more families look to take a couple of holidays with children a year, they are ideal for a short break especially in the UK. The weather in the UK can be unpredictable any time of year but animals have to be looked after come rain, shine, wind or snow! Rain won’t stop play on our farm-stays, after the animals have been fed and watered there is much fun to be had in the play barns and indoor swimming pools.

One of our first holidays with Freddie when he was small was a little farm near Bude in Cornwall. He loved the tractor rides with farmer Ted feeding the animals every morning. The grounds were perfect for kids to let off steam and the log burner perfect for cosying up at the end of day. We as a family really enjoy the great outdoors and if you can throw some animals into the mix we are even happier.

Whilst writing this we are in the car on our way to Cornwall to our newest edition of family-friendly cottages on a five star farm, with 150 acres, private gardens, kids club and more. We are staying in a one bedroom cottage with enclosed garden overlooking the valley and apparently offering amazing views. Located near Looe in Cornwall it is an ideal place to stay to explore what this part of Cornwall has to offer. If it continues to rain we have lots of contingency plans and ideas of places to visit, but we are going to go with the flow and see what happens, probably on an hourly basis with the weather forecast as it is! We have taken our dog Millie too. It is spring and it is raining, oh no it has stopped, oh hang on it’s raining again ha! We know we will have fun and look forward to reporting back shortly…
