And we can’t go without mentioning the wonderful animals who are ready and waiting to be cuddled and petted. Meet the resident alpacas, six in total, Theodore, Bart Bobbin, Winston and Jackson, noisy donkeys Magpie and Wren and the naughty goats, who are very good at escaping! The two newest members are William and Harry the royal highland cattle – who were named after their father Archie who was bred by the queen at Balmoral estate!
The estate is managed by Harry and Diana Acland (the Acland family have been managing the farm for over 50 years) who are both passionate about conservation, and the wildlife here is flourishing as a result. The holiday barns are heated using solar thermal heating panels and the water is recycled and cleansed to feed the trees and plants on the farm.
