Surrounded by woodlands, on the border of Kent and Sussex is this little canvas hideaway, Feather Down, Sunninglye Farm. The glamping tents each have a well-equipped kitchen and a wood burning stove as well as its own individual campfire site for outdoor cooking.
Sunninglye Farm has farm animal residents including chickens that peck happily around the canvas, sheep, pigs, goats, a horse that loves to be pampered and donkey who also lives here and are well looked after by the Miles family, who have farmed for over 50 years.
Guests can take a walk into the woodlands and collect wood for the campfire, there is a pond to have a little play in with a boat and kayak. There is also a raft building activity and brunch adventure, during guests stay. The honesty shop is well stocked and offers a range of local produce.
Only a few miles away is the spa town of Tunbridge Wells and the historic houses and gardens like Penshurst and Sissinghurst. Sandy beaches at Camber and the more traditional seaside town Hastings are both only a 45-minute drive away.
Sunninglye Farm is part of the Feather Down Family, a collection of canvas hideaways on beautiful private farms throughout the UK and abroad – visiting a farm means you are helping the rural and local economy, while enjoying nature and learning where your food comes from. The Feather Down Farms concept began in 2006 and was originally developed by the late Luite Moraal, a veteran of Disney and Center Parcs. Since opening the first farm in the South Downs Hampshire, Feather Down has expanded to over 75 farms in the UK, Holland, France and Germany.
Feather Down Farms is proud to support British farmers with their selected farms.

The Miles family have lived at Sunninglye since 1964, Jo is the current owner, with Gill, her daughter who completes the farm work, looks after the animals, and manages the campsite. They both live onsite, with many family members popping by to help out when needed. We asked them what they think makes Sinninglye so special:
'Sunninglye is entirely family run, with the Miles family having farmed there for over fifty years. Because it is so loved by our family, sharing it with the guests ensures a memorable holiday is experienced by all! The campsite is situated within a shady hilltop copse and each lodge faces outwards into surrounding fields and woodland, therefore it is the perfect escape into the freedom of the countryside.'
