Hillcote is a luxurious family-friendly holiday home, ideal for a family of eight guests, plus babies, in four bedrooms. This grand Edwardian townhouse exudes elegance and has stunning period features.  It is beautifully decorated and perfect for a holiday for families with babies, toddlers and multigenerational breaks located in Wadebridge, North Cornwall within walking distance to cafes, restaurants and shops.

During 2022, owner Joanna, renovated and refurbished Hillcote with the vision of creating luxurious, beautiful, and yet a practical holiday home that exquisitely balances traditional and modern styles. All furniture, fixtures and fittings have been sourced and considered very carefully with guests’ needs, child safety and sustainability as key driving forces

There are many wonderful places for families and friends to relax both inside and out. Guests receive a welcome hamper on arrival which includes a bottle of Champagne. There are two living rooms, both with a cosy fireplace and enough seating for 8.  There is even a piano, perfect for music lovers to enjoy in the drawing room.  The kitchen equipment is of professional chef standard to ensure that cooking at Hillcote is a pleasure. As one of Hillcote’s guests commented - “A real home-from-home place with the type of attention to detail we haven't really seen in other properties”.

The garden is enclosed so ideal for toddlers and well behaved dogs, with decking, patios, BBQ and outside dining table for 8. If visiting in spring, guests can enjoy the beautiful magnolia trees in the back garden. Children can take the books and toys they find in the house, to play in the wooden play-house outside which has a slide attached. There is even an outdoor heated shower which makes a great addition to wash off those wet-suits, boards and sandy dog paws after a family beach day.

Hillcote is a short walk from the centre of Wadebridge, a vibrant town that is located on the tidal River Camel. There is plenty for the whole family to do in Wadebridge with many shops, parks, playgrounds, leisure centre with swimming pool, large selection of coffee shops and restaurants, hire bicycles or walk along the Camel Trail, which takes the route of an old railway line that runs from Bodmin to Padstow, beautiful countryside and sometimes stunning sea views.

Property details

The drawing room has two sofas and two armchairs. a piano and Smart TV with Sky sport. There is also a Google Nest. The sitting room has two sofas, a Sky Glass TV with Sky TV, Google Nest and feature fireplace. The kitchen/dining area has a double oven and microwave, large induction hob with extractor fan, Nespresso coffee machine. Fridge-freezer, dishwasher, washing machine and tumble-dryer. Smart Tv with Sky TV, Google nest hub and a Dekton dining table with eight seats.

Double doors from the dining area lead to the private outdoor decking area, that leads to the enclosed garden.

BEDROOMS:
Blue bedroom: super-king/twin, medium firm mattress, comfy chair, ambient light, towel rail, hairdryer, sheer day blind and blackout curtains.

Purple bedroom: super-king bed/twin, medium or firm mattress. Comfy chair, ambient lighting, towel rail, hairdryer, sheer day blind and blackout curtains.

Master bedroom: super-king/twin medium or firm mattress, ambient lighting and blackout blinds. Ensuite bathroom and enclosed balcony. Walk in wardrobe with keycode safe for storing valuable items.

Bunk bedroom: upholstered bunk bed with full size single mattresses that suit both children and adults. Comfy chair, ambient lighting, sheer day blind and blackout night curtains.

Family bathroom: large bath with traditional hand-held shower attachment. Separate shower area with overhead rainfall shower

Garden: Enclosed Garden with wooden playhouse and slide. Selection of outdoor games and toys. Patio with dining table and chairs, charcoal BBQ, heated external shower and WC. There is an outbuilding to store bikes, surfboard, wet suits and wellies.  The beautiful magnolia trees look stunning when in bloom and provide lovely, dappled shade on hot days.
