Valleyside Escapes was honoured as the best glamping site in Devon and the South West winning gold at both the Devon Tourism and South West Tourism Excellence awards 2023-24.

Set in the beautiful Devon countryside, in an amazing valley setting, located in the village of Bickleigh it is perfect for a family glamping holiday with toddlers in Devon.

The three safari tents are situated in the top paddock overlooking the Exe valley, and all are well equipped and baby and toddler safe! Sleeping up to six all also have hot running water and electricity. The front section of the tent can be opened for alfresco dining and watching the sun go down on the veranda. Guests can enjoy having a BBQ and take full advantage of the on-site honesty shop, to cook some tasty meals including their famous paella meal kit. The wood burning stove, in the lounge area is a big hit to get all cosy in the evenings. 

Kids will love sleeping in the cabin bed and below, in the little den with cosy bean bags, fairy lights and cushions. Each tent has children’s crockery and cutlery, child-size table and chairs, plus chill out chairs for the veranda. 

Explore the riverside meadow, where the little ones can enjoy the complimentary nature trail. It is the perfect spot to enjoy a family picnic during the day or head to in the evening, around the fire pit, telling stories, toasting some marshmallows. Feed  the ducks and have a little paddle in the river during the summer months.

There is a children’s play area with a fun mud kitchen, swing, slide, tree stumps and tyres. Perfect for toddlers and all ages. Plenty of space to play football, badminton and then a boule and skittle court where the whole family can get involved. New for 2024 is a games room situated in the courtyard and available to use during your stay. It has a pool table, darts board, table football and retro Nintendo - something for the whole family. 

The honesty shop is not only stocked up snacks and breakfast good, but a selection of games for all ages can be borrowed too! The Mediterranean courtyard bar is open Friday evenings, stocked up with local Devon cider, lagers, ales and spirits.  

Within walking distance, explore the woodland, head to the family friendly bistro and local pub. Head to the Devon Railway centre, explore the indoor play coaches, sof railway. 

Valleyside Escapes, boasts award-winning beaches both north and south Devon, and national parks of Dartmoor and Exmoor all within an hour’s drive.

Property details

Three fully equipped safari glamping tents; Oak, Maple and Birch, all each sleeping 6.
There are two bedrooms in each. One king size, one twin, plus king size cabin bed which accommodates two children or adults. 
Bathroom at the rear with shower, toilet and sink. 
At the front of the glamps is a kitchen with a gas hob, small fridge, and dining area. The front section of the tent can be opened to bring the outside in for al fresco dining. Lounge area with a wood burning stove. 
Outside is a veranda with a BBQ area. 

All have hot running water, electricity and Wi-Fi
