• La Vallee des Singes (Valley of the Apes) - The park consists of 15 hectares of woodland walks tree glades, allowing the monkeys to move in total freedom and in direct contact with visitors. Here, there are no cages or barriers, but lots of space to allow you to discover the après (Gorillas; Chimpanzees, Bonobos etc) like nowhere else. There is also a small farm where children can feed the smaller animals and several playgrounds for children to enjoy; including swings, slides, climbing structures and a zip-wire. Peacocks roam free and there are various feeding shows throughout the day. There are plenty of areas for families to picnic and a café selling hot and cold food, snacks and ice-cream. Located 1.25 hours drive away.
• Nautilus - A large pool complex offering fun inside and out. Here you can enjoy water zorbing, swim in a 50m Olympic sized pool or enjoy a family friendly inside pool with water jets, Jacuzzi and waterfalls. There is an 80m inside waterslides (for 6 years and over); separate diving pool and paddling pool for the little ones. Outside there is a wave pool; outside play area with zip-wire; the lazy river; and a 4 track water slide. There is also a large lawn for those wishing to relax and soak up a little sun!! Inside there is a spa with 2 saunas; steam room and solarium and for those wanting something a little more energetic – a cardio area with bicycles, treadmills, rowing machine and elliptical equipment. This attraction is 1 hours drive away.
• Base Nautique & Centre Equestre – Lacs de Haute Charente - Just a few minutes away from The Old Coaching Inn, you will find the pretty beaches of the Lacs de Haute Charente. These are huge lakes that not only have the beaches for swimming but a whole manner of water sports, sailing, wind surfing, canoeing and fishing. Miles of beautiful woodland surround these lakes providing cycle trails that the whole family can enjoy. There is crazy golf, beach volley ball, and a play area for the children, in addition to a bar/restaurant for those wanting to enjoy some great food; ice-cream or a drink or too!! Located here also is a great equestrian centre, with organised horse and pony trekking for all ages.
• Parc Bellevue - Located near Limoges is a wonderful outdoor amusement park with attractions for all ages. It has fairground rides, go karting, ropebridges extending out across a lake, small train, toboggan run and lots, lots more. This is a perfect place to visit with your small people, take a picnic and make a whole day of it. It is located 50 minutes drive from the property.
• Adventure Parc - Located near the Haute Charente lakes, this park will allow you to spend a sensational and friendly day for the whole family. From the activities in the trees to the bungee jump tower including the Maxi Tyrolienne (aerial ropeways), everyone will enjoy it, adults and children (from the age of 6 and 1m55 with arms raised) from the beginners to the experienced. The Pitchoun Parc (childrens park) with its own play area secured with nets, now accommodates very young children (from the age of 3). This attraction is situated 20 minutes drive away.
• Velo-Rail - Why not enjoy a gentle cycle on the Velo-rail, a bicycle mounted on rails through some beautiful countryside, on a track which stretches from Roumazieres to Confolens – 17kms in total. A great expereince for all ages, with the opportunity to rest midway and enjoy a picnic or icecream. Roumazieres is located 25 minutes drive away.
• Reynou Park - You will be amazed at the splendour of the landscaped park and will be charmed by the beauty of the animal world. Young and old alike will take away unforgettable memories of this day. At Reynou Park you will discover a wide diversity of species representing the five continents. Animals live and reproduce in harmony in large open spaces (covering 45 hectares) and every year new births here are celebrated. This park is under 1 hours drive away.
• Centre Aqua-Recreatif, Saint Junien - The Aqua-Recreation Centre offers various swimming pools both inside and out, catering for every age. There are pool slides and outside play equipment; large lawned areas to sunbathe; sun-loungers and café facilities. There is a ping pong table and beach volley ball, sauna and hammam. This pool complex is 15 minutes drive away.
• L’Aquarium du Limoges - Welcome to the Limousin Aquarium, open every day from 10:30 – 18:00. The Aquarium will amaze you as it has more than 160 000 litres of water, containing 2500 fish and turtles. 300 species are represented at the aquarium and the tour will take you on a journey from the cold freshwater to tropical seawater, through to the tropical freshwaters of Asia, Africa and America. Come and meet Jospehine, a very strange Koi Carp – if you put your thumb in the water and wait….Josephine will come and suck your thumb!!! The Aquarium is 45 minutes drive away.
• Paintball, Margnac - Discover an entertaining and sporty activity: paintballing!! In a 7 hectare playground you can spent a pleasant and exciting day in friendly company. A nice layout situated within a verdant forest with varied themes and open year round from 9:00 – 19:00. Margnac is a 30 minute drive away.
