Overview - TRSC3
This truly is an amazing place for a peaceful and relaxing family holiday. The setting is remarkable and you would never believe you are less than 30 miles off the South West of Cornwall. Tresco Island is something special, as soon as you arrive you will notice the friendliness of the people and the staff. The location is idyllic – white sandy beaches and clear blue seas. Lots of fresh sea air to enjoy and the Island is pretty much a car free zone which is great for the kids to explore and have fun without having to worry about traffic.
The Island has a number of accommodation options and these sea cottages are on the eastern side of the Island and have lovely views across to St Martins. If you‘d like to explore the other Isles there is an inter-island boat service that will allow you to take in the scenery to its fullest.
There is lots to do on the Island for both adults and kids. The obvious main activity is enjoying the stunning scenery on the beaches and coastal paths. There are walks taking you to Cromwells 17th century castle and a little further you will find King Charles castle. Great fun for the little ones to explore and take in a bit of history.
The Island is also home to the famous Abbey Gardens, you won’t find some of these sub-tropical species anywhere else in the UK thanks to Tresco’s climate. Hire a bike and take a look around the gardens and the beautiful landscapes.
If you would like a little more activity on your holiday, as well as the bikes (with helmets, tag-alongs and stabilisers) there are boats, windsurfs and kayaks to hire from the sailing club.
The Flying Boat Spa leisure facilities give you access to an indoor heated swimming pool, gym, tennis courts, spa, Jacuzzi and sauna as well as entry to the golf course (located on St Marys Island) - all included in your stay. (Treatments additional cost)
Your cottage has a fully equipped kitchen with all the mod-cons which means you can cook to your hearts content. The food store on the Island is stocked with essentials as well as local produce, Cornish and West Country produce ranging from Tresco beef to Newlyn fish and Scilly ice-cream. The delicatessen has a large selection of cheeses and an in-house bakery producing fresh bread, hot pasties and croissants. There is a very extensive wine list to choose from too! If you don’t fancy cooking there is a dine at home menu prepared by their chefs and delivered to your door – just pop them in the oven and enjoy! Just book with the staff on arrival. The food store also stocks all those baby essentials too so you don’t need to worry about forgetting anything – baby wipes, food, nappies etc.. it’s all there.
Eating out on the Island is a real treat. The café is really relaxed and has a great atmosphere, they are open daily from mid-March to early November and have kids options. It’s a great place to sit on the terrace with a glass of wine whilst the kids play around the beach in front of you. The views are stunning and you’ll feel very chilled! There is also the restaurant which is open 3 times a week for main meals and daily for snacks and drinks and lunches. The New Inn Pub serves award winning food and beverages – the Tresco surf and turf is apparently something of a master piece! The Inn has been awarded 4 yellow stars and a Gold Star Award from The AA for quality and service and an AA rosette for food excellence. It is one of only 12 Cornish pubs to be listed in the Michelin ‘Eating Out in Pubs Guide’ so you are sure of a great meal when you eat out here!
Each of these cottages is beautifully fitted out. They have heated solid oak flooring, Wifi broadband, wide screen satellite TV, a wood burning stove and amazing views!
Upstairs you will find two twin bedrooms a family bathroom and a master bedroom with en-suite bathroom, balcony & those stunning sea views. (All rooms can either be made up as a twin or double on request)
Downstairs you will find a family shower room a TV room with sofa and an open plan kitchen/diner with French windows leading out on to the patio and a lounge with wood burning stove and French windows. Immaculately presented and a pleasure to stay in.
