This lovely family-friendly farm stay is located in the Yorkshire Wolds in East Yorkshire. Whether you are looking for a short stay with the kids or larger group holiday with friends or family there is a self-catering cottage to suit families and groups of all sizes and ages, from two bedrooms for a family of four through six bedrooms and even larger group stays when more than one cottage is rented.

Little ones will love the animals here, there are always sheep and chickens around the cottages, joined sometimes by piglets and there is a wealth of wildlife too, buzzards, barn owls, deer and many rabbits! All the cottages have binoculars and a book about the local wildlife for all budding enthusiasts.

If that’s not enough, Broadgate Farm is within easy reach of Honeysuckle Farm, a petting farm where you can watch cows being milked.

The village has a children’s playground and there is a swimming pool and soft play centre just two miles away. There is plenty for all the family in this beautiful part of Yorkshire, within a few miles: Treasure Tails, horse riding, soft play and rock pooling at Flamborough, museums, low ropes and climbing wall and more. York is around 45 minutes by car.                                                                                     

There is a chef that can deliver food to your cottage or Dinelndulge offer a range of menus to suit all occasions and budgets.

Property details

We list here the collection of two-bedroom holiday cottages, however there are larger cottages available and cottages can be linked together too.

All the holiday cottages have been converted from period barns and buildings with each being individually designed using natural reclaimed materials where possible. Renewable technologies for heating and hot water including ground source heat pumps and solar mean they are eco-friendly too.

There are five two-bedroom luxury holiday cottages at Broadgate Farm, sleeping families of four to five.

Forge (sleeps 4)

Originally the blacksmiths shop this lovely cottage overlooks the paddocks and Blackmeredale Bottom.

The sitting room has a wood burning stove with oak floor. Free sat HD TV, DVD player and free Wi-Fi. The dining kitchen is fully fitted with washing machine, dishwasher etc and has French windows out onto the patio and garden.

Upstairs there is a double bedroom with a king size bed and views across the fields. The twin room can be converted into a double and both bedrooms have room for a travel cot. The bathroom has a bath and shower.

There is a private patio and garden with garden furniture overlooking fields 

Foldyard (sleeps 4)

This two bedroom child-friendly holiday home is all on one floor. It has a private walled garden, underfloor heating, wood burner and ground floor wet room.  A baby bath can be provided too. The kitchen dining room is fully kitted out with everything you need and there is a large table with four chairs.

There is a super-king master bedroom with room for a travel cot, and second twin that can be made into an extra king

Outside there is a lovely large garden with large feature pergola.

Foldyard cottage can be connected to another four-bedroom cottage offering accommodation for parties up to 12.

Stables (sleeps 4 +1)

This is a two-bedroom, two bathroom holiday cottage.

On the ground floor it is semi-open plan with a fully-fitted kitchen and the sitting room running off the dining area offering views across the fields. There is a twin bedroom downstairs with a wet room with large easy access shower (it can be converted into a double). Upstairs there is a master suite with a king-sized bed and large bathroom with bath and separate shower. There is room for a put-up bed or travel cot on the landing outside the master bedroom.

The cottage is not designed for disabled access however downstairs is suitable for those with limited mobility.

Cart House 2 (Sleeps 4)

This luxury holiday cottage is perfect for a family looking for space! It is the largest two-bedroom cottage at Broadgate Farm, and has been beautifully restored from the old barns. Boasting under floor heating oak doors, and modern bathrooms. It has a large sitting area, luxury kitchen and dining for 12. All ground floor bedrooms are en-suite with a king master and twin. There is a private garden and the Cart House can be turned into a four-bedroom cottage sleeping up to eight guests

Courtyard (sleeps 5 +1)

The only two-bedroom cottage that sleeps 5 plus 1. There is a super-king master with en-suite and a family room with en-suite, (3 single beds or one super-king and a single) all located on the ground floor. As with all the self-catering holiday cottages here it is beautifully equipped for families and is pet friendly. There is a private garden and patio with garden furniture.
