Overview - Chateau de Gurat, La Forge
Large holiday cottage in France, perfect for two families sharing or multi-generational family holiday with grandparents located on the Charente Dordogne border surrounded by beautiful meadows and woodland.
La Forge is largest of the six holiday cottages at Chateau Gurat and offers a ground floor bedroom and en-suite shower room, making it accessible. A well-equipped kitchen, cosy living room, private terrace with dining table, BBQ and panoramic views, Welcome hamper on arrival, plus a list of baby and toddler items that can requested on the time of booking.
Within the grounds there is something to keep every family member happy, enclosed heated swimming pool and toddler pool with panoramic countryside views. Play barn with table football, table tennis, TV offering Netflix, Disney+ and Amazon prime. Children’s books, ride on toys and fancy dress. Boules court large open space with trampoline and climbing frame. Shaded sandpit for babies and toddlers with sofa area for the adults to relax and watch them play.
Adults only pizza and wine tasting evenings are held weekly on the Bergerie terrace, which has beautiful views across the rolling meadows and woodland of the chateau, and is close enough to all the cottages for Baby monitors to work too. There is also excellent wifi coverage throughout, so phone-based video monitors are also an option. A great chance to meet some of the other guests, and enjoy some quality adult time.
Families and groups holidaying here can take advantage of the beautiful walks directly from the Chateau, including to a local small village within walking distance. A short car drive will take you to the local lake and river sandy beaches, family attractions and village markets and local activities.
